If a domain is listed in DMOZ or Google or Yahoo then it will show the corresponding link location to it.  You can also Check the IP Address, IP location, and many more.. There are many domain registrars in the Internet. The first thing you have to note before buying a domain is check whether the registrar is an ICANN accredited registrar or not.
